BARBARA JAYNE DANCE CENTRE
The Story
The Barbara Jayne Dance Centre was established in 1975 under the direction of Ms Barbara Komazec. The Dance Centre has many success stories to its claim and students are trained to a Professional level with some students going directly into Professional careers. Students are trained in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap dancing and Musical theatre. Barbara Jayne Dance Centre has been the Champion school for the last decade and a half at the SASDS Competitions winning sections in all facets of Dance. Past students have been performing in Mamma Mia!, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Matilda the Musical, Anything Goes, Sound of music, Phantom of the opera, A Chorus Line, Cats, The Addams Family, We Will Rock You, Wicked, West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Legally Blonde, Chicago and Moon Shadow to name afew. Students have been accepted into the Australian Ballet School, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, AC Arts, Ministry of Dance, Brent Street and many more.
Cristiano Martino a former student at BJDC is now a member of the Australian Ballet Company.
Nadia Komazec and Zoe Komazec recently completed a 2.5 year contract with Matilda The Musical touring Australia and New Zealand. Nadia is currently performing the role of Columbia in the current production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Zoë then performed in the hit musical MAMMA MIA! and toured Australia throughout 2017 - 2018. Zoe then went on to be Swing/Childrens Dance & Staging Captain in the smash hit Musical Billy Elliot! 10th Anniversary Tour.

Nadia has most recently been seen as the role of Patty in School of Rock. Touring Australia and China throughout 2019 - 2020. Nadia has also just finished performing the role of Columbia in the Australia tour of Rocky Horror Picture Show, This year Nadia will be performing in The Wedding Singer Musical playing the role of Holly.
Jaime Foord has completed three contracts with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Bridget Hancock has also recently completed received a contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Ovation of the Seas "The Vegas Style Show" Another one of our students Maddison Lochert has also recently completed her contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Lacie Roberts has been accepted to perform in the Moulin Rouge in Paris in 2018. Charlotte and Jessica Stratton-Smith, students from 3 years of age, will be completing their fourth year at the Australian Ballet School.
